Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly announces endorsements from 100 Republicans in reelection bid

Kelly has campaigned as the "middle of the road" candidate.

Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly is hoping GOP support will help her secure reelection in November. Her campaign is announcing 100 more Republican voters are signing on to support her bid. They join 60 other Republicans who already signed on, including former state representative and current Blue Valley School Board member Jan Kessinger and other current and former Republican officials. Former Republican Gov. Bill Graves and former GOP U.S. Sen. Nancy Kassebaum endorsed Kelly in her 2018 campaign against Republican Kris Kobach, but have not yet endorsed her in 2022. Kelly is one of the most vulnerable Democrats in the nation. Tuesday night, she and Republican Attorney General Derek Schmidt advanced to the general election. In 2018, Kelly relied on support from prominent Republicans to advance her campaign as a “middle of the road” Democrat. FULL LIST OF REPUBLICAN SUPPORTERS FOR GOV.
