International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union of Kansas Endorse Governor Laura Kelly for Re-Election

TOPEKA – Today, the Kansas International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW) endorsed Governor Laura Kelly for re-election. Kansas is home to Textron Aviation, Bombardier, Spirit AeroSystems, and numerous other aerospace companies, coining Wichita as the “Air Capital of the World.” This endorsement highlights Governor Kelly’s continued commitment to growing the workforce, ensuring the aerospace industry continues to be a staple of the Kansas economy.

“It is vital for labor to have a voice as Kansas’ economy continues to grow. Governor Kelly not only understands this, but has stood by us and elevated our voices during her time in office,” said Cornell Beard, Directing Business Representative of Kansas IAMAW. “Governor Kelly has rebuilt our crumbling economy, made historic investments in Kansas’ infrastructure, rainy-day fund, and education, all while cutting taxes for working-class families. The Governor has been laser focused on growing Kansas’ economy and providing relief for hard working Kansas families- and she’s delivered. We’re looking forward to her continued leadership in 2022.”

“Keeping Kansas’ economy growing and thriving would not be possible without our local machinists and aerospace workers,” Governor Laura Kelly said. “Kansas’ IAMAW’s members are a cornerstone of the Kansas workforce, and I’m proud to have them by my side as I continue my efforts to put Kansas back on the map.”

Governor Kelly’s campaign continues to build momentum earning broad support from every corner of Kansas, including former RNC Committeewoman Alicia Salisbury, former Republican Attorney General Robert Stephan, former Republican Representative Jan Kessinger, former Republican Insurance Commissioner Sandy Praeger, over 60 other Kansas Republicans, over 125 current and former Kansas educators, the Kansas Carpenters Union, Equality Kansas , and the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.
